Highline Highschool
project description
Highline High school named Skanska the GC to build the replacement high school. Skanska demolished the existing school and build a new 237,797 square-foot replacement school which will serve 1,500 students. The building consists of general and specialty classrooms, a theater and black box drama classroom, career and technical education spaces, science classrooms, multiple gyms, and tennis courts.
Skanska named Scott Coatings as the painting contractor for this project based out of Burien, WA.
Communication on area access and maintaining schedule were challenging aspects of this project. But our team, alongside Skanska, was able to make this project a success.
Scott Coatings’ scope of work consisted of interior and exterior painting, and the installation of the wall graphics throughout the school.
Fun fact: Our estimator, Joe Reynolds, went to Highline.

He studied Psychology at Washington State University, where he also played as a receiver on their football team. It has been a wild and fun ride for him to be a part of the fastest growing painting contractor in the Northwest. He believes that if you work in a place that feels like family, and enjoy going to work every day, you know you’re at the right place. That has shown itself to be true of his time at Scott Coatings. Outside of Scott Coatings Joe enjoys hanging out with family and friends especially at his family cabin in Henry Island that has been the ultimate getaway. He also enjoys anything sports, especially the Hawks and WSU.
