HCSA Laundry Facility

project description

HCSA Laundry Facility relocated a large commercial laundry service for hospitals in the Seattle/Puget Sound metro area. This facility consists of a first-level warehouse and a mezzanine level, and houses specialized laundry processing equipment.

Graham Construction, an out-of-the-country contractor, selected Scott Coatings as their painter for this project. We have a working relationship with this GC from Canada. The tricky part of this project was that all of the expensive laundry equipment was installed before painting the structural steel. Our team came up with a proactive plan to ensure no damage occurred while painting the structural steel to our clients’ expectations. Overall was a good project with Graham Construction in our ability to ensure the project was on time and no damage was done.

Rob Scott

Chief Executive Officer

Seattle, WA

Rob Scott, our founder, wanted to create a company where people didn’t feel like just a number but actually felt valued for who they are. In 2003 that became a reality when he started Scott Coatings from his garage along with his wife and co-founder, Tina Scott. He has always been very familiar with the painting industry starting at age 13 when he was a painter for his father’s commercial and residential painting company. His ability to learn how to paint didn’t only teach him about the trade but it also allowed for him use this skill to fund his own schooling in the process as he graduated from University of Washington with a BA in Administration and a Minor in Finance. Outside of Scott Coatings enjoys playing with his family, golfing and reading.

  • Random Fact: He can beatbox.
  • Bucket list: Spend a month at a monastery.

Laurin has a Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing degree from Michigan Tech and Oakland University. He also received his MBA from Wayne State University.  100% of his experience in construction has been with Scott Coatings.
