Field Arts and Event Hall is a 500-seat multi-purpose auditorium and 300-seat state-of-the-art conference facility, Field Hall represents the newest and most significant arts, entertainment, and special events combination found anywhere in the region.

The Field Arts and Event Hall project was awarded to Scott Coatings by Mortenson Construction. This is our 5th project with them and we are excited about the continued partnership.

This project has incurred delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic but we are excited to get this project started again soon.

Scott Coatings’ scope of work will consist of interior painting, painting of the OTS, painting of interior structural steel, exterior painting including mechanical screen wall, applying sealer, and anti-graffiti.

Matt Scott

Matt Scott

Business Development

Matt joined the family company back in July of 2012 as an Estimator and now as Business Development Manager. He has his Business degree from Central Washington University. Matt’s experience includes a total of 10 years of field painting and 6 years in the US Navy. He has a strong belief and conviction in the value and goal we seek to accomplish at Scott Coatings and enjoys the fun atmosphere and culture as well. Outside of Scott Coatings Matt enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and going to his family cabin on Henry Island.

  • Random Fact: He was part of the capture and holding of 13 pirates.
  • Bucket list: Climb Mt. Rainer.
Laurin Preston

Laurin Preston

Principal – Senior Project Manager

Seattle, WA

Laurin has been at Scott Coatings longer than everyone minus Rob. He has been here since June of 2007 as a Project Manager and now a Principal – Senior Project Manager. His roles have evolved in the more recent years in leading the charge for our project management team on all of our projects. Laurin has a Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing degree from Michigan Tech and Oakland University. He also received his MBA from Wayne State University.  100% of his experience in construction has been with Scott Coatings. What initially started out as a secured job prior to moving west from Detroit quickly blossomed into a passion of his and has become his future. Outside of Scott Coatings Laurin enjoys traveling, boating, camping, skiing, hiking, and really just being outdoors.

  • Bucket list: Visit an African safari with his wife and daughter.
Juan Lopez

Juan Lopez

General Superintendent

Seattle, WA

Juan started in September of 2017 as a General Foreman then later on promoted to a Superintendent where his responsibilities include scheduling, project production, manpower, and improving methods and processes. He has his certifications in boom lift, scissor lift, scaffolding, swing stages, and forklift training. He has also completed a course as a Apprentice and Journeyman at IUPAT. Juan has been in the construction industry for 15 years and specifically in the painting industry for 14 years. Juan believes that he found the place where he enjoys the culture, behavior, and vision to be the biggest and best painting contractor on the Westcoast. He feels that he is at a place where he is valued and is inspired to perform at a high level. Outside of Scott Coatings Juan enjoys time with his family as well as traveling with his kids to soccer games. He is a very competitive guy, so he loves the thrill of the game.

  • Bucket list: Travel outside of earth.
